  • Comments Thread For: Erislandy Lara May Jump To Middleweight After Next Bout

Unable to secure the big names at junior middleweight, WBA champion Erislandy Lara could be moving up to the middleweight sooner than anyone had expected, according to his manager Luis DeCubas Jr.

On November 25, Lara will defend his title against big under Jan Zaveck, who held the IBF world title in the welterweight division. The fight headlines a Premier Boxing Champions [PBC] on ESPN from the Hialeah Park Race Track in Florida.

I'd pick Lara to beat Quillin or Jacobs.

So he leaves with 154 with no significant wins other than trout? But GGG don't want none doe

If Lara gets any decent win at 160, I'll be disappointed if Team GGG doesn't try to make that fight.

Lara is better than almost everyone at middleweight.

There's a lot of talent coming through at 154, Andrade, Castano and JRock are the goods. I would've loved to have seen Lara in there with any of those boys. But 160 needs some fresh blood so why not. I think Lara beats anyone at 160 except Golovkin.
