  • Comments Thread For: Martinez vs. Salido III - The WBO Approves Trilogy Bout

During their annual convention in Orlando, Florida this week the World Boxing Organization approved a third fight between their featherweight champion Roman “Rocky” Martinez and former two-time world champion Orlando “Siri” Salido.

Martinez and Salido fought twice in 2015 with Martinez winning a close decision at home in Puerto Rico in april and the second time this past September in Las Vegas their action packed rematch was declare a draw.

I think boxing trilogies should be spreat out over a couple of years at least, not consecutively. It seems like people are making fighters fight a trilogy just for the sake of it.

Look at Ali-Frazier, that was fought over 4 years. Pacquiao-Marquez took a good while for the 3rd fight to happen.

Dude how often does boxing have a trilogy fight? Once every 5 years? So them doing number1, 2 and 3 back to back to back is no big deal.

There first fight was controversial and Martinez got the win, there second Saldio clearly won but got jobbed so a third time is in order.

Salido clearly won the last fight. He needs a KO this time.

They are 1-1 as far as I'm concerned. Salido deserved to get the decision in their last fight.

LOL, there wouldn't be a trilogy if Rocky really won the last fight.

Salido has won more rounds than Marquez did against Pacquiao... Lol....

But seriously , this Puerto Rican dude has received so many gift decisions! Including one against another great Mexican Warrior Burgos...
Man, Burgos could have been champion and the judges took it away.... Salido hasn't lost any pedegree ... Salido is a battle proven champion.... He'll win the third one even clrearer ... But the question is, does it mean anything now?
                    Hope this happens...
