sometimes i want to pretend things like this dont happen in a sport we all love. but sadly boxing rears its ugly head, and it kinda brings us all back to earth. this is a brutal sport even today and makes you respect those fighters at the top even more.

There never is after this kind of situation. He's lucky if he can wake up from this and still pretend to be normal.

Let's say a guy recovered from a bleeding on the brain and acted as if it never happened, nearly all commissions in the US wouldn't even allow the fighter to get a license.

Remember Edwin Valero? Dude had a motorcycle accident that had him bleeding from the brain. Could never fight in the US again until he fought what? Like over 20 times in various other countries and it became enough proof of evidence that he was fine to allow him to get re-licensed back in the US just before his tragic situation.

In other words, it's nearly impossible to get re-licensed.

Boxing commissions in the US are way too strict to license the kid again. But I think it's for the best. We have too many tragedies already in this game. No need for another. This kid is so young still. Sad, but life is more important than the sport at the end of it all.

It's so disheartening, though.
