WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith Thurman (26-0, 22KOs) is going to continue his chase of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) until the pound-for-pound king officially retires.
Thurman had hoped to face Mayweather on September 12th. Instead, Mayweather announced last week that he was going to defend his WBC/WBA super welterweight belts against Andre Berto in the main event of a Showtime Pay-Per-View from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
