  • Comments Thread For: Ariza Rips Freddie Roach: Broken Down, A Puppet of Arum!

Strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza has questioned the credentials of Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach. He feels Roach is "broken down" and no longer competent enough to provide elite level preparation for a fighter like eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao.

Ariza worked with Pacquiao for five years - until there was a falling out with Roach in 2013, which led to Ariza being fired by the trainer. Since the start of the year, Ariza has been working with Floyd Mayweather Jr. After Ariza's departure, Roach brought back former conditioning coach Justin Fortune.

This past Saturday night, Mayweather won a twelve round unanimous decision over Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Roach was terrible Saturday night. No adjustments.

"Walk straight into Floyd and occasionally let your hands go"

        Was basically the gameplan

This is what Mayweather is good for, giving bottom feeders like this a platform to spread their cancer.

what do you think mr. ariza that you have conditioned mayweather in a new approch or technique? common mr ariza still you used the old technique because you have no new technique. the swimming pool is very old that's the time of rocky marciano. do you think that you have a credit of mayweather's win againts pacquiao? how about brandon rios? that's one reason that robert garcia fired you in his camp.

Many may hate Ariza but since his departure of Manny's camp . Pacquaio has taken a nose dive ever since he was knock out he has been gun shy why do you think he fought Jr welters prior to this fight. Does it occur why he didn't fight punchers like Porter, Thurman Madiana he would have been knock out and the dream scam fight would have never happened. This fight was all about milking the idiots who paid for it thinking they were getting a Duran vs Leonard fight. What they got was Holmes vs Ali cause Pacquaio was washed up just like Ali

Roach talks a big game but when the going gets tough he can't adjust because he doesn't know **** about boxing. Watch all fights he was in the corner, he has no plan B.

Roach is a joke blowing smoke with no hope, Ariza is right, joke coach is stuck in the old school.

Dumbass had a good conditioning coach with a very intelligent nutritionist Teri Tom who now works with Floyd who monitors her fighters body composition and makes sure they're in tip top shape.

Roach is an egomaniac who wants all the credit in the world for Pac.

Dumbasses should never had gone for the fourth Marquez fight it was terrible matchmaking.

It all paid off in the end I guess, fight generated more than it would have in their primes.

Freddie Shakes can't teach what as a fighter he never learned; defense. Manny Pacquiao's best defense has always been his offense, and it showed on Saturday. Limited one-dimensional unchanging approach.

Cotto, Maidana (1st fight), shoot even De La Hoya were more competitive fights than Pacquiao.

Also, even if I thought my fighter was winning the fight, I would never tell him that in between rounds in the corner. Never. Freddie is overrated, washed up and in serious need to just chill and take care of his decease that is controlling him more and more.
