Citizens Business Bank Arena, Ontario, California - Ryan Burton catches up with former welterweight champion Andre Berto to discuss his sixth round knockout victory over Josesito Lopez in their Premier Boxing Champions headliner on Spike TV, breaking down the way the fight with Lopez played out, whether he was bothered by the fast early style of Berto, who he intends to target in the near future, going back in the gym from a quick turnaround, thoughts on the May 2nd welterweight mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, and more.

No reason for Maidana to face Berto. At this time it's not even a lateral move. It would be taking a step backward. Berto needs at least 2 more impressive victories before he can land any kind of contender.

Maidana beat Lopez right before getting a title shot vs. Broner. Berto just beat Lopez and Maidana doesn't have a title.

      Make the fight.

It wasn't just the Lopez fight. Maidana was 3 and 0 with 3 KOs in his last 3 fights prior to the Broner fight.

True, but of he lost to Lopez he's fighting someone else instead of Broner.
