  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya on Mayweather: He Has To Take It, Sign It!

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya is hoping that WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. accepts the fight with WBO 147-pound champ Manny Pacquiao. The fight is being negotiated for May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Back in 2009/2010, De La Hoya's company was involved in the Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations and they failed in making the fight.

Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, claims everything is agreed upon on their end, and they are simply waiting for Mayweather to approve the terms and sign a contract.

I can't wait for Floyd to sign this deal just to see everybody back track. Manny will go from the man Floyd is afraid of loosing to to a complete bum in a matter of minutes.

Your comments are absurd, because if this fight happens, no matter the result, neither fighter is a bum. The only way someone is a bum is if this fight doesn't happen.
