Former WBA cruiserweight world champion Guillermo "El Felino" Jones is pleading with the World Boxing Association to shed off some time on his two year suspension for testing positive for a banned substance.
On May 17, 2013, Jones knocked out Lebedev in the eleventh round, but following the contest he tested positive for furosemide, a banned weight cutting agent. The WBA returned the WBA title to Lebedev and ordered a rematch - although the official decision of the outcome remained. The rematch was scheduled for this past April and Jones once again tested positive for the same substance and the fight was canceled only hours before the two fighters were set to enter the ring.
