Manager Edison Reynoso is disappointed with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) being forced to withdraw from his December return, but notes that his boxer's course remains the same for 2015.

Canelo was scheduled to return on December 6th against former welterweight champion Joshu Clottey. The boxer announced on Monday that he suffered an ankle injury, which forced him to withdraw from the contest.

Is Canelo good enough to go 10 months without a fight and be sharp, that's the real question.

True. It's actually beneficial to BOTH fighters canelo and cotto cuz both are gonna come from "layoffs".

Canelo is way too young for a 10-month layoff to affect him.

In fact at his age and experience 10 months of serious gym time could seriously help him shore up his game if he was very serious about the work he would be putting in. He has been in some tough fights so there has to be something there for him to learn from and grow.
