  • Comments Thread For: Haye Definitely Interested in Stiverne-Wilder Winner

Former two division champion David Haye (26-2, 24KOs), inactive since a 2012 TKO of Dereck Chisora, hopes to return to the ring for a motivated campaign to once again become the heavyweight champion.

Haye is very interested in facing the winner of the yet to be finalized fight between WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne and mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder. The Stiverne-Wilder bout is expected to take place in the fall.

Bryant Jennings is the next WBC mandatory, and deservedly so.

While Haye was doing nothing, Jennings was winning fights against previously undefeated opponents like Artur Szpilka and Mike Perez.

Ridiculous - Haye hasn`t fought forever. The fans world-wide want to see the winneer of Stiverne vs Wilder against Wladimir Klitschko...... huge unification!

We can forget about that one for a while. Either Al Haymon or Don King is going to end up calling the shots after Wilder/Stiverne, and neither is going to let Wlad anywhere near his guy.
And this is the American world heavyweight title we are discussing here. Most American fans would rather see Shannon Briggs or maybe David Haye vs the winner of Wilder/Stiverne than a unification fight with Wlad.
It might be Jennings getting his shot next, but if Wilder wins the title, my money would be on David Haye vs Wilder next.
Haye came out of retirement, moved to America and signed with Haymon for a reason. You don't need to be Sherlock Holmes, or even Larry Holmes, to figure out what that reason was.

Why would any boxing promoter or manager waste the time and money into securing purses, setting up a venue, getting press work done, etc for a fight Haye will just pull out of.

Haye is just blowing smoke (that's his specialty). I doubt Haye ever fights again.
