  • Comments Thread For: Weights From Brooklyn: Garcia 141.8 lb., Salka 141 Lb.

There was no drama at the scales, though fans can only hope that there will be plenty in the ring for Showtime's televised tripleheader Saturday evening at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

In the main event, lineal super lightweight king Danny 'Swift' Garcia takes on Rod Salka in a non-title fight that few view as a competitive matchup. Both fighters came in within the contracted limit of 142 lb.; Garcia weighed 141.8 lb. for his first non-title fight since 2011, while Salka–whose last fight was at super featherweight–came in at 141 lb. WTF? This is ALSO at a catchweight?

Jesus Christ. How many advantages does Danny need against a guy coming up two divisions? Effing absurd. Anybody who watches this fight needs to reevaluate life.

Why is a "champ" fighting without defending his belt? This is just a televised sparring match.

I'm surprised, I didn't even think Garcia would make the 142lb cw. Boy do I feel like a horse's pa-toot.

Man, this might actually be the first card i will actually skip entirely. Just not pulling me in, that goes for every match up on the card.

All this catch weight **** is bs. Yes, even including my boy Canelo and his antics. I don't like it.
