Unbeaten heavyweight prospect Luis Ortiz steps up in class as he faces veteran Monte Barrett in a scheduled 10-round main event Thursday evening at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif.

The bout headlines a televised tripleheader, airing live on Fox Sports 1.

Ortiz (20-0-0-1NC, 17KO) is coming off of a 1st round knockout of Alex Gonzalez last November, in what served as his U.S. television debut, which also took place on Fox Sports 1.

Barrett (35-10-2, 20KO) was thought to be retired following a 4th round knockout loss to Shane Cameron in July '12. The bout was his second straight trip to New Zealand, following his points win over David Tua in their Aug. '11 rematch.
