The boxing world is still buzzing over Marcos Maidana’s upset victory over Adrien Broner this past weekend in San Antonio, Tex.

In front of over 11,000 partisans inside of the Alamodome, Maidana fought a spirited and determined fight, as his power had great effect on his younger foe. Knockdowns of Broner were registered in rounds two and eight while several bludgeoning shots were delivered in many of the other frames.

When the dust had settled, Maidana has claimed a unanimous decision victory while Broner was left trying to cope with his first professional setback.

gotta love roger's colorful comments on broner LMFAO

it seems that whomever is working with floyd (be it Sr or roger) is more sympathetic to broner

Sr used to ridicule broner and is now interested in training him now that he's back with floyd..

roger now that he's a second is ripping broner

    this is pure gold

“He wasn’t what people thought he was,” Roger explained. “They thought he was the next Floyd Mayweather. Now that he got his *ss whooped, people are saying ‘Oh, this motherf***er wasn’t no Floyd.’ I know God damn well he wasn’t.”

Broners confidence was his biggest weakness. When Floyd almost lost to Castillo he learned a lot from that fight and beat him comfortably 2nd time around. Broner didn't learn anything from the PM fight. If he learns from this defeat he can still be a star but he's going to have to find some humility and be Adrien Broner because the whole Mayweather act is over now.

People thought he was the next for voluntary defending against Gavin Rees and moving up in weight to take Paulie M's belt. Lol.

People call Golovkin and Kovalev hype jobs- the difference is they're ready and willing to fight anyone. Broner and Canelo on the other hand are perfect examples of careful picking, maneuvering and marketing by their promoters/managers. They didn't even get their feet wet, people expected way too much. Canelo wasn't "The one" and Broner wasn't the next Floyd. Broner can still comeback and have a great career... One loss is nothing, but THAT is what a hype job is, IMO
