James Kirkland was an absolute power punching machine, landing an avg. of 54 power shots per round - FOUR TIMES THE 154-POUND AVERAGE.. Mandigo's 73 power shots landed in round four is a CompuBox 154-POUND RECORD. The game Glen Tapia landed 21 power shots per round- eight more than the wgt. class avg. Yet Rigo has a total of 48 punches landed on him thru rounds and Lara who's in the same division has 90 something punches thru 12 rounds against a former world champ landed on him and people on here still criticize them!!!
That's why it's called boxing and not fighting...dudes need to learn to box

tapia may never be the same after that! his corner is to blame, smoger and the doctor questioned them and they threw him right back out there to get pounded on

"Mandigo's 73 power shots landed in round four is a CompuBox 154-POUND RECORD."
A 154-Pound record?
If 73 power shots in one round isn't the record, who the hell was able to take the record for all the divisions?
Those stats are ****ing insane (never seen punch stats like those for 1 round let alone 3)... Kirkland is a ****ing beast, just ruthless... Respect to Tapia...

Tapia might retire. Even if he is physically and mentally fine once he hears wind of the stats that's a real eye opener for him. Partly it had to do with Kirkland's ability to land and throw at a high rate but its more damaging to realize that despite how often and hard Kirkland threw it was Tapia's his own inability to defend himself that's going to haunt him. Wouldn't be surprised if he quit.
