  • Comments Thread For: Bradley, Marquez and 30 Others Test Negative in Nevada

All 32 fighters who appeared on boxing cards held Oct. 11 and Oct. 12 in Las Vegas came up negative for the banned substances tested for in Nevada’s drug-screening panel, according to an email from state athletic commission Executive Director Keith Kizer.

In addition, the headliners of the Oct. 12 show — Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez — were also negative under additional, enhanced testing done for their bout, according to a report by Kelsey McCarson of TheSweetScience.com.

“Kizer said each fighter was randomly tested four times (both blood and urine) during the NSAC program, and that Carbon Isotope Radiation (CIR) screening to detect the use of synthetic testosterone was done on half of the urine samples collected. No synthetic testosterone was discovered in either fighter,” McCarson wrote.

Considering 30 out of 30 came out clean that's good. Don't see what's so hard about striking up a per year contract with VADA. Pay one lump sum per boxing organization per year to VADA and get testing done for the sport..lord knows there is plenty of money in boxing. I don't think spending $30 million a year to have VADA test all your boxers is going to hurt anyone's pocket and plus it restores the faith of the fans that what they are seeing are even field fights.

Marquez never had the Olympic Drug testing done, the one which Floyd uses. This is why he's got away with it again.

NSAC didn't random test 30 fighters, only Marquez and Bradley. And most fans are clueless about drug testing. And if you expect Promoters to pay that money for all their fighters, that's not going to happen. Golden Boy doesn't even like using USADA, nor VADA. Neither does Bob Arum. They only do it by necessity when fighters who have leverage force the issue.

It'll take something extreme happening for them to do it for all fighters.
