  • Comments Thread For: Johan Perez-Paul Spadafora Set For November 30

The team behind Venezuelan contender Johan 'El Terrible' Perez indicate that a deal has been reached to face undefeated Paul 'The Pittsburgh Kid' Spadafora on November 30th at the Mountaineer Casino in West Virginia. Perez (17-1-1, 12 KO) vs. Spadafora (48-0-1, 19 KO) will have the WBA's interim super lightweight (140 pounds) at stake.

Perez bounced back from last year's seven round technical decision loss to Pablo Cesar Cano, with victories over former champion Steve Forbes and previously undefeated Yoshihiro Kamegai.

Spadafora selling out Mountaineer Casino, breaking records and breaking faces.

Paul: "If you want to get technical about it, Larry Holmes and Rocky Marciano couldn't hold my jock strap."

                  Spadafora

The WBA is a joke with these interim titles. Spadafora is not selling out any arena. I was at the last three shows and received 25 comp tix each show and I am not a player. Bottom line Perez will walk through Spadafora, just look at the Frankel fight for your answer.

2 Things come to mind when I think of Paul

I fought him back in the 90's, seem so far back and I fought him at Jr. Lightweight and I'm 5'8 and muscular He was bigger than me at that weight. I can remember he was signed to the promoter of the card we fought on and he never got on any scale; they just said he made weight. I also remember how slick he was much like myself but left handed. He's like a white Pernell Whitaker without power but strong physically. Paul's biggest problem is himself if he can just get out of his own way he could have had some megga money fights.
