  • Comments Thread For: George Foreman More Impressed With Ruiz Than Wilder

Former heavyweight champion George Foreman appeard on ATG Radio and discussed several of the up and coming American heavyweights. After going through the names, Foreman views undefeated contender Andy Ruiz (20-0, 14KOs) as the next big thing in the heavyweight division. Foreman does not have the same heavy feeling about crushing puncher Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29KOs). Foreman was more impressed with Ruiz's recent KO win over undefeated Joe Hanks than Wilder's brutal KO of former champion Sergei Liakhovich.

Wilder needs to grow up and fight some true opposition. The guy is cool but he talks way too much by saying that he is ready for any opposition... that he has never faced yet...

Deontay Wilder can become a very good contender but he MUST talk know with his skills instead of his mouth.

Who the heck is George kidding? Andy Ruiz is a prime example of what is wrong with today's American heavyweights! It is painfully obvious he is too fat and NOT in the best shape he could be in. Yes this is not a bodybuilding contest but the champs of old were not blubbery and sloppy looking. At least not in their prime.

This is why the Klitchkos continue to dominate. Love them or hate them, they are ALWAYS in great shape. They have a very good work ethic and a fighter's discipline. If they didn't they would not be reigning as long as they have.

I mean let's get real here, Andy literally, not figuratively but LITERALLY has MAN BOOBS!!! Not cool. Andy Ruiz should take a page from Chris Arreola who has recently slimmed down dramatically. This will pay big dividends for Chris in the long run. I expect a serious resurgence in Chris Arreola's career if he keeps this up.

            What's the reservation on Wilder?

How can you not like Big George? Definitely a straight shooter!! I may have to re-evaluate Wilder to understand the consensus and their unwillingness to support him. As dominate as he looked against Sergei he must really have some serious chin issues to keep the jury suspended.

If he was any bigger than he was against Joe Hanks he should not be undefeated. He may be on the right path but he still looks like a whale in boxing trunks.
