  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Guerrero is Tougher Than Cotto For Floyd Jr.

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya expects Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-1-1, 18KOs) to present a big challenge to WBC welterweight king Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26KOs) on May 4th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

De La Hoya expects Guerrero to be an even tougher opponent than former three division champion Miguel Cotto, who gave Mayweather more trouble than most people expected last May. De La Hoya feels all of the stars are aligned for a potential major upset in what is going to be Mayweather's debut on Showtime Pay-Per-View.

Oscars right about Guerrero being younger and more in his prime. But Floyds also fighting in his natural weight class at 147. He will be stronger than the Cotto fight.

Oscars just trying to sell the fight...Guerrero doesn't even seem as focused as he should be. Going on tv while floyds in the gym...Hopefully it will be entertaining 44-0 Hopefully Floyd fights the Trout vs Canelo winner

De la hoya is right about everything he said. but mayweather aint losing no fight.he always have something instored.you have to fight every fighter according to their style.mayweather is the best fighter of making strategic changes and adjustments without screwing himself up.(MONEY).

My thoughts exactly. And no way Guerrero at 147 will be stronger than Cotto AT 154. Oscar's just sayin whatever the f___ to sell the fight.

This is another mismatch! Guerrero style is perfect for Floyd, (slow, straight forward, no head movement, slow, & slow). Making mismatches is Golden Boy's motto! Its funny how Golden Boy seem shocked after HBO's decision! Stop matching your cash fighters in mismatches.
