  • Comments Thread For: Lucian Bute To Return on April 14, With or Without Froch

Super middleweight contender Lucian Bute (30-0, 24KOs) is likely going to fight on April 14th in Montreal, with or without Nottingham's Carl Froch. The promoters for both boxers are very close to a deal, but information has surfaced that Showtime is reportedly not interested in the fight because the network, who has Bute under contract, wants to see him fight an American opponent in his next outing.

I sure hope it's Froch, but I'm prepared for a little lol if Bute gets another clubfighter. What a waste then.

Sounds like Bute is under protected custody

Bute hasn't fought Miranda twice and Ward has been called and clearly refused to fight Bute. Of course, people like you will say it's Bute's fault if Ward doesn't want to fight him.

One thing is sure. It's NEVER Bute's fault.

Bute is almost 32 years of age he has been a world champion since 2007, to date his best win is against a 43 year old with 15 losses at the time.

How can anyone defend this? The best fighters at 168 have all shown a willingness to fight each other apart from Bute.

What's more likely the top guys at 168 all fear Bute or Bute is being extremely over protected? He really needs to step up to the plate soon his career is starting to look like a waste.
