  • Comments Thread For: Sylvester vs Soliman, Karmazin vs Adama Ordered

The IBF has put the finishing touches on a planned middleweight tournament to name a mandatory challenger to their IBF champion. Former IBF middleweight champ Sebastian Sylvester will take on Sam Soliman in one eliminator, and former 154-pound champ Roman Karmazin will face Osumanu Adama in the second eliminator. The winners of both eliminators will face each other, and the overall winner becomes the mandatory challenger for champion Daniel Geale. Soliman was first set to fight Benjamin Simon but that is apparently history by now. Sylvester vs Soliman will go ahead sometime during the early fall.

Call me crazy, but Adama is going to come out the winner of this.

All of Sylvester's fights will be in Germany and IMO this whole thing is being set up to justify giving him a rematch with Geale in Germany. The IBF skipped over four or five higher ranked guys to include Karmazin, who is retired, Soliman, who is old, and Adama, who hasn't beaten anyone of note
