Talk about flipping the script. Should Devin Haney do what he's expected to do as we've watched the crumbling of Ryan Garcia throughout this promotion, the narrative of this whole saga will be recalled as the ascension of Haney's rising stardom. For that, a lion's share of credit should be heaped upon Haney's father/manager/trainer, Bill Haney.

Agree. Whatever criticism mfers have with Team Haney as a whole or with individual ppl Bill has killed it at progressing Devin's career to maximum positive outcome. More young guys need to be copying Team Haney's blueprint.

Idk how much bill has to do with as much as right time right place. Hankey easily has had the easiest path to undisputed at 135 despite a gift as well as the most lucrative. Dude got paid crazy money for easy fights which was one of the reasons dazn went ppv

Idk about that. They got the W & most ppl who disagree Devin won had it super close within a reasonable margin of error with all the close rds that one could argue either guy deserved to win. Two official judges had it 7-5 Haney, 746 fans had it a consensus 7-5 Loma.

I had no dog in the fight. I'm not a fan or hater of Haney or Loma and I'm 1 of the few that had Haney winning. I liked the hard body shots Haney landed.

Beating the cash cow doesn't automatically make you the cash cow though.

Meaning Haney is gonna need some spectacular in ring or out of ring antics to generate cascual interest.

Algieri on point with this one. Normally, a guy like Haney would be a high-risk low-reward for other guys to wanna fight him even with title belts. But somehow, his old man has found ways to entice top guys to step in the ring with him and make it worth their while. They might be tough to sell to the general public sometimes, but they are elite businessmen and show it time and time again. If he can defeat Garcia the way everybody believes he will, he'll definitely boost his profile big time being that Garcia is a notable commodity amongst folks that DKSAB and is levels below Haney in every aspect of the sport except punching power. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

I don't see Bill that way at all, the move that made it all happen is beating Kambosis twice and becoming undisputed, that's when everyone wanted to fight Devin, all Bill is doing is shooting his mouth off and selecting who they wanna fight from a list that wants them titles, I don't think Bill is a mastermind at all, he is a pimp and Devin is in the power seat as long as he keeps winning, you watch if he loses Bill can preach all he wants the stocks will plummet.
