Be interesting to know if there's any more boxing memorabilia in the auction.

Thrilla in Manila was one of the greatest fight of all time, Bob Arum was there, the third man was Carlos Padilla who also officiated the Leonard v Duran fight, Joe Cantada was the ring announcer

The shorts are worth more than the purse for the fight, crazy world.

Why so much? ThoSe who remember it will be too old to enjoy them...and those young enough to investment buy will realise that in 50 years time they will be worthless. They are realistically a museum piece...and most museum pieces are historically significant but monetarily worthless.

I'd buy them and wear them around my house for strolling and laying on the sofa watching movies and eating chips.

I remember Quitali was selling his fight-worn shorts once and the highest bidder insisted that the shorts must be unwashed.

                I was like WTF.

Correction, most pieces are monetarily priceless when it involves a cultural icon. Look at any guitar played by Jimmy Hendrix

Thats today. In 50 years the guitars value will have dropped dramatically as noone alive will actually have experienced Jimi Hendrix as he stands in culture today Guitar driven music is almost non existent already. Much like boxing will fade as physicality is taken over by technology. We are the last of the cavemen.
