This is just BS. There was a rematch clause for the first Golovkin fight. There was one for the Bivol fight but Canelo didn't activate it because he knew he'd lose again. Edit: Charlo and Ryder also confirmed in interviews that they had to agree to a rematch clause.

If carnela had a rematch clause for bivol then surely he would have said the terms would be the same right?

Rematch clauses are only rare if this is your first time paying attention.

Why wouldn't Charlo Ryder agree to a rematch, they didn't have to they would dive head first at another opportunity for that Canelo pay, its not Canelo he would not have anything to do with its his management does all the paperwork and contracts.

It isn't the point that Charlo and Ryder would have made money in a rematch with Alvarez or that it was good business for them. It is Alvarez (allegedly) had those rematch clauses in the first place while this headline screams how rare it is. Anyone who follows this or any other boxing focus site knows that rematch clauses are all the rage right now and that Alvarez and his team have used the ploy more than a few times. It is a complete farce to say otherwise.

Another Canelo fight with clauses is not new, there's probably a hydration clause & munguia shoe laces tied clause & extra padding gloves clause.

He can never just fight & should be stripped of at least the wbc, they're coward's clauses that don't belong in sport unless they'res popular demand after.
