Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14KOs) has long awaited his opportunity at a world title following his August 2022 victory over Zhilei Zhang (26-2-1, 21KOs), claiming a narrow points win over the Chinese heavyweight contender.

Hrgovic has decent fundamentals and is a big dude but he gets hit and I think AJ wins inside the distance.

So he's going to holdout and fight no one
until the IBF strap gets stripped, but if it doesn't due to a draw or wanting a bigger fee from a possible Fury/Usyk rematch...then what ?

If the IBF belt gets stripped after Fury/Usyk 1 whats the point in having a rematch and losing the winners O if its not for full unification again ?

I'd say get AJ - with his new found confidence - to take the fight now with no title on the line just to clear Hrgovic from the picture.

Then if the belt gets stripped give it straight to the winner. The wrinkle needing ironed out is the inevitable A-Side Joshy rematch clause...yawn!!!

It's a good fight, I don't care about the belt.

I can imagine Fast Eddie doing some Turki whispering in the desert saying, can the Parker rematch and put him in with Hrgovic on the undercard of an AJ vs Wilder fight.

Once again getting Parker to do the heavy lifting with the possibility of losing also playing into A-Side Joshy's hand.

Eddie must surely be confident enough now to risk AJ v Wilder since Parker exposed Wilder and they've aged him out.

Throw Whyte v Joyce and Dubois v Kabayel in for some thrills and dollar dollar bills and Bob's your uncle!

More sportswashing heavyweight glory than you can shake a stick at for the most excellent cashed up camel jockeys.

Clap for yourself. You have just spewed out loads of garbage. AJ has already said that he wants Hrgovic next, probably in June or July. AJ wants to be active and fight at least 3 time a year while most fights are sitting and waiting for a payday. He's not relying on what Greedy Belly and Usyk, especially Greedy Belly, do/does. So, stop hating and keep up with what is really going on.

Parker should be getting the ibf opportunity anyway or any opportunity.

I like the fight, it makes sense for both.

Im not sure the way the split works out for a vacant belt. If the lions share goes to the higher ranked guy i cant see aj agreeing to it.

Filip is stiff, lethargic and one-dimensional, but is big, strong, punches hard and can take a beating - all of this is a threat to Joshua. A risk too high for Eddie to allow, that is why he keeps Filip not very active because it might happen that AJ will have to face him.
