  • Comments Thread For: Dana White: That's How Crossovers Into Boxing End

The appetite for mixed martial arts punchers trying their luck at the highest levels of professional boxing should likely be waning following Anthony Joshua's second-round destruction of former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

The only people who seem to want to see these fights happen are these little geeked out suburbanite nerds who eat, sleep, and drink ufc and talk about “real street fights” while attacking boxing…oh and of course the mma fighters themselves who make so much less than boxing elite

These people exist largely in your head, brother.

I dont think ive ever encountered an MMA fan that actually WANTS to lose MMA fighters to another sport. They might watch the fights out of curiosity but they definitely dont ask for the fights to happen.

Actually, more and more UFC fighters will follow Francis Ngannou, leave the UFC and join PFL for real money. Ngannou just made over $30 million in two boxing matches. Conor McGregor made even more fighting Floyd Mayweather.

But the key thing is the fighters get paid properly and the UFC doesn't get a cut. If Jon Jones is able to get out of his contract, look out. It will start an avalanche...

              This.

Francis said he made more vs Fury than he made in his UFC career & I believe he made twice as much for AJ as Fury.

And lets be real. Its not all mma guys losing. Vitor Belfort destroyed Evander Holyfield. Anthony Pettis beat RJJ. Jose Aldo just started boxing & is winning fights. Cyborg is winning fights & seems to be trying to line up a fight with Shields. Who knows what happens with Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul.

Nagnnou made $4million a minute he was in there with Joshua. I do think he showed some good moves at times - he countered Joshua well. But no way should he have ever been put in with a very hard puncher like AJ. You saw the difference with a proper boxer in Wallin - AJ dominated but yet never had the chance to hit him like that. I hope we don't see this again now - but I guess money means it will happen again sadly. It will only stop when someone suffers serious injuries.

Unless you're a massive bum like Fury.

That’s how they will all end, but winning the fight would just extra

Its all about the money, obviously
