Junior flyweight has already delivered a fight of the year contender in 2024. Kenshiro's lineal title defense against Carlos Canizales set a bar for the division this year, the same way his run atop the division has set a bar for what has been a strong and undersung era. 108 pounds isn't always an attraction but its highs over the years have been red meat highlights for harcire fans. Classics like Carbajal-Gonzalez and Segura-Calderon stand the test of time and multiple champions from the division have been enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

If 'Shinga brings the same gameplan - ie slickness and counter-punching he will get out-punched and lose by stoppage or narrow decision - but if he decides to get on his bike more he might nick a close decision - but prob not as it's Curiel's home fight.

Turned out to be the opposite. He stayed in the trenches and played his moment to go perfect. What a hell of a fight.

I can see where your head was and not a bad prediction seeing how the first fight came about
Be honest here , never thought he was going to knock him out , didn’t see that coming but was a good all around fight with a great ending

You could see Curiel starting to gas. I wondered if Nontshinga could sustain offense as he was so right hand wary but he got it together

According to his trainer they even planned to be on the ropes - so completely different game plan - a junior flyweight modern era rope-a-dope!!!

Seems like Team Nontshinga decided it was a lucky punch 1st time round and they could out-guts and out last Curiel - helluva risky card to play

Cliff are you going to still be involved going forward? I sincerely hope so
