One of boxing's best prospects produced another tantalizing victory Thursday in Las Vegas. Abdullah Mason scored two knockdowns and knocked out Benjamin Gurment in the second round of their scheduled eight-round bout on the Teofimo Lopez-Jamaine Ortiz undercard at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino's Michelob ULTRA Arena. The 19-year-old lightweight from Cleveland displayed diverse offensive skills during their brief bout, improved to 12-0 and produced his 10th knockout.

This kid is the goods and has it all. I’m so happy to see him develop like he’s doing. I was in Cleveland when he fought on the undercard of Jared Anderson and he was good That day, but now is even better at still 19 years of age. Stay focused don’t get off track and the sky is the limit.
