  • Comments Thread For: Tim Tszyu Accepting That He May Never Fight Jermell Charlo: "He's A Bit Of A Coward"

From the moment he threw on his first pair of gloves, Tim Tszyu knew he wanted to become a world champion. As he made his way up the junior middleweight ranks, he noticed that just about anyone could grab a belt but it takes someone special to beat the man who beat the man.

Meh. I don’t mind Charlo being stripped, but he was a solid undisputed champ. Went after all the belts and def was not a coward in the ring. Lesser champs have gotten longer exceptions to hold on to their belts for even more crappy reasons.

Charlo had an injury followed by a life changing opportunity w Canelo. And even then he was only allowed to enter the ring as champ and was stripped of his title immediately afterwards. Again, good for WBO for doing right by Tszyu. And obviously it was the right decision after seeing what Charlo has done since losing to Alvarez, but a coward at 154 he was not.

Tszyu is right, once Charlo got the belts he lost all desire to achieve anything else. Tszyu is the rightful champ of 154 he just needs the opportunities to prove it.

There's more than one version of a coward, he's not scared of getting beat up he's scared of losing. Charlo is overrated, it took him two attempts to beat Harrison and Castano. Since becoming undisputed he's done absolutely nothing, he should be ashamed of himself.

Charlo has the belts at 154, but he doesn`t want Tszyu

Canelo has the belts at 168, but he doesn`t want Benavidez

Crawford has almost all belts at 147, but he doesn`t want Boots, who has his IBF belt

We have a strange bunch of top guys here.

Crazy talk coming from all directions. illogical to pass on a Canelo fight just like FMW when he was around, boil down to 154 and get knocked out.

Josh Taylor is the prime example of a guy hanging around a division to long and getting beat by guys he should have beat in his sleep vs moving up to 147 and fighting Crawford when he had the chance.

Once Charlo became undisputed it was time to move on. Canelo was worth more than any fight at 160.

Tim has a roster full of fighters to make his run at undisputed now. Oh, he doesn't want to go through the gauntlet like Charlo, looking for one fight like Haney and become undisputed?

Worry about Crawford if Haymon sticks in the ring with him. If not, Ortiz Jr is going to be a lot to handle. There is 1 or 2 underdogs you have to worry about.

If Ennis gets the heart, he would be a factor at 154. Has the size.

Boots needs to fight someone with a pulse before asking for Bud, the cream of the crop..
How can someone ask for Bud while they’ve had 15 previous fights vs opponents totaling 63 losses? That’s laughable-

Charlo gained all that weight to do the Canelo money grab, so who knows where he intends to compete, going forward. If he comes back down to his weight, he's losing a lot of muscle. Roy Jones showed that when u do that, it hurts your performance, big time. He's holding belts hostage, but is he gonna fight at 154, or vacate? He seemed like he didn't ever wanna fight Tszyu. He saw what Tszyu did to a man who gave Charlo fits and even beat him- Tony Harrison. He knows Tim is a dangerous guy and a hard puncher. He's not calling Tim out, he never speaks about fighting Tim. He's doing all the PBC/Donald Trump delay tactics he can

I don't believe he ever wanted to fight Tszyu and now that he has the Canelo retirement check, I doubt he will ever fight again.

What has Boots done at 147 to even warrant a Crawford fight? Does Boots even have a fight lined up? He hasn't fought since the Villa win, yet constantly flaps his gums about being ducked.
