  • Comments Thread For: Maliganaggi Believes Kambosos Will Get Dominated Against Lomachenko, Should Retire Afterwards

Before he knew it, George Kambosos Jr.'s run on top of the lightweight division was over. After pulling off the upset against Teofimo Lopez in 2021, his bank account went through a makeover. With back-to-back appearances against Devin Haney soon after, however, Kambosos, if he wanted, never had to fight again. Nevertheless, those gigantic paydays came at a price.

He’s not the best of his era but he fought some of the best. If he’s healthy and still wants to compete who is Pauli Malignaggi to say he should retire?

      I agree.

      Why retire at 30 y/o?

The Lomachenko that fought Haney stops Kambosos.

The Loma that showed up against Teo drops a split decision to the Kambosos that showed up against Teo.

            Seems a bit extreme.

Kambosos isn’t a top level fighter but he can still be competitive at the levels below.

I see no reason why he needs to retire unless he wants to retire.

Stylistically, they are similar type of fighters 'But Lomachenko even at this stage of his career, is superior with his style and effectiveness'.

Note: If we can go by Lomachenko's recent form in his prior fight vs Devin Haney 'If Lomachenko can reproduce that type of form, he should win this fight' etc.

Loma is slowing down a lot. I think Kambosos can pull it off he he has a night like he did against Teo.

I think he will win a few rounds, 3 or 4, won't be as one sided as the two fights with the hugger. Loma gives rounds away with inactivity.

The Lomachenko that fought Lopez had a bad shoulder injury. That guy no longer exists. Even with the injury , Teo scraped by.
