good for him. all these fighters should drop the belts and just do the ring lineal title from now on. too many bums in the alphabet rankings and the ranking hardly ever are anything close to accurate as far as best in division. Fook em all. hope it starts a trend.

If he was with PBC, he would've been allowed to keep the belt.
PBC guys can do whatever they want.

Alphabets all crooked yeah. But IBF seems to be run by a sentient computer. At some point 20 years ago a 4th belt outfit was legitimized by boxing press. Maybe time to start peeling it back cuz all these “champs” unsurprisingly coincide with decease in popularity of sport

You can’t blame the guy. 99.9% of fighters would do the exact same.

It wasn't just "some point", it was when arguably the biggest names and best in boxing (at the time at least) unified AKA ODLH vs Hopkins.

You could also argue it's the rise of the Klitschkos and the Mayweather, both extremely dominant forces which people wrongfully label as boring but ultimately turn people off the sport.

As they're all dominant in the most prestigious of divisions and also because of mayweather a lot of people became precious about their "0" and demanded unrealistic paydays.

its embarassing for the sport of boxing when the guy who is clearcut ahead of all other "champions" has no belt

Jai Opetaia looks to be the best active cruiser-weight around with or without a world title. I understand why the IBF are enforcing their rules but the rules just aren't consistent with some champions going year's without a mandatory others immediately being thrust into a mandatory.

Team Opetaia should ask the Saudis for a few mil to call Jake Paul out and put it on the Fury Usyk undercard.
