BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the WBO has ordered a junior flyweight title consolidation bout between full champ Jonathan 'Bomba' Gonzalez and recently crowned interim titlist Rene Santiago. The bout was anticipated by both parties and seemed to be in a place to begin talks even before receiving such instructions.

Santiago's knockout win over the previously undefeated Vivas was an impressive left jab to the pit of the stomach.
He caught him with the right punch, at the right time, as Vivas was moving forward, Santiago unleashed the coup de grace.
It actually left all of the fans in the arena in shock, because it was such an unexpected outcome to their fight.
Gonzalez's last two wins were against the best in the division, and he will probably add Santiago's scalp to his record if they do fight.
