  • Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford on Spence: If It Wasn't For Errol This Fight Wouldn't Have Happened

The undisputed welterweight championship required concessions from both of its participants to become a reality. But perhaps one fighter deserves a bit more credit than the other. Newly crowned undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford stated in a recent interview that his ballyhooed fight with Errol Spence Jr. would not have happened if it were not for the latter's initiative.

Yeah! That much is true. Spence sacrificed millions in order to make that fight happen. The PBC divided Errol’s pay in order to satisfy Crawford’s demands.

Crawford has sounded more reasonable after the win.

It sounds like maybe Al Haymon and PBC wanted to go in another direction but Errol Spence stood firm that they had to make this fight.

Making the rematch should be easier. They both have already agreed that is should happen at 154. Crawford is the A-side

Trust me we know. The guy fought Avenyasan his 1st fight as a free agent. I've said a hundred times he would've been ok with this fight never happening.

I'm sure he would rather watch them pbc welterweights beat each other up then take the remains. Ultimately what happened.

Good call in the long run though since it turned out to be the #2 selling fight of the year globally. They both no doubt made a heavy 8 figure payday

No this fight would not have happened if Crawford would have acted with the same lack of class that Spence showed for 6 years toward him.

By Crawford ignoring the insults and verbal attacks on his resume, coach, where he was from, and former promoter, he showed more class than all of the PBC and Mayweather Promotions affiliates combined.

Crawford, by holding on to his WBO belt, and BLK Prime putting more money on the table behind the scenes made this fight happen.

Spence will be remembered for being a unified welter weight champion for a little while longer, until the chickens come home to roost, and the 'Truth' is told that he was always a weight bully in that division up until the time that Crawford exposed him, and showed that he was really not that guy, that he was built up to be.

The Bud black-ball Show, will continue with Jermell Charlo now still making excuses and cracks about Bud's age, this that and another, but HE will not be able to bring up, "Who has he fought?" anymore.
