  • Comments Thread For: Shawn Porter Believes Spence Is Capable Of Beating Crawford In a Rematch at 154 Pounds

There was a confident look on the face of Errol Spence Jr. whenever Terence Crawford's name was brought up in conversations. Sure the Omaha, Nebraska, native has easily walked through everyone he's faced but Spence was a different animal. Even after agreeing to face Crawford on July 29th, Spence claimed that his fellow welterweight champ was in for a long and painful night.

Shawn Porter also believes if Spence and Crawford had fought 5 years ago, Spence would have won. Man, Spence would have never beaten Crawford. He never had the skills to beat him.

Porter had the better style against Crawford, though not the tools needed. If Spence can’t find a way to be a successful infighter at close range he won’t ever be competitive. Spence will have to avoid blowing up in between the fights, stop the drinking if he hasn’t, get away from his family, and get his strength and conditioning coach to work on his explosiveness

But the damage from the drinking and boiling down is irreversible. Shawn can be a bit idealistic in some of his takes lol.

He couldn't make a slight adjustment of defence on the night , Spence just doesn't have the tools to deal with Crawford , Crawford s counter punching ability is on another universe then Spence , great fight great night but no need to see Spence take any more punishment, that was Career changing beating he took , I'd be surprised if we see Spence at the highest level too long

No need for a rematch let Crawford free and chase greatness and make other great fights , he is near 40 now

With the amount of money they made last weekend, they might as well have the rematch, because Charlo is unavailable anyway.

Here you see why Errol was nothing close of what he was before and sad most people are not aware of :-(

I been saying it all along and Porter knows the truth too, crawford beat a weight drained version of spence, spence looked tired after round one and he didn't even get caught with one punch while crawford looked fresh throughout the fight and spence's punches had zero effects because his power was gone from cutting too much weight, that's why pacquiao had always the advantage against the "bigger" guys he faced at a catch weight suitable to him. I doubt crawford would take the fight at 154 because he knows he can't beat spence if he comes in 100%
