  • Comments Thread For: Randy Couture on Ngannou: Facing Fury is a Big Step Up, He Has A lot of Work To Do

Francis Ngannou has received heavy praise from another former UFC heavyweight champion, Randy Couture. Couture is no stranger to having heat with the UFC and company president Dana White.

Putting aside the fact that this fight is shameful, it will be interesting to see what his style looks like, if he can land even one legitimate shot, etc. We got a glimpse of this with Mayweather, but for some reason Floyd just seemed to have zero killer instinct in that fight. I imagine Fury knows that this guy can hurt him if he lands, so likely he will be throwing the heavy shots he learned how to throw recently.

This statement, the entire article, shows what big time ufc/mma fighters think about boxing. They all want to be able to do it better, this is why the more accomplished (ie more funded) mma fighters have boxing coaches while the lower tier rarely have any concept of boxing. High level mma fighters watch boxing, they study it, they want to be able to emulate it, and most of all they want to be able to make boxing money. They also don’t like the contract system the ufc forces them into. Dana white has to be hating all of this

Randy Couture? Where did they drag this old man out of to get a comment?

In his day ge would never have stepped foot in a boxing ring with Janes Toney that’s for sure.

There isnt really anything Ngannou can do to have a realistic chance in a boxing match against Fury. Its pretty much a swing and hope for the best situation.

He wouldnt but to be fair it was James talking mad **** and being delusional as always. Gotta give him credit for actually putting his money where his mouth is and stepping outside his comfort zone though unlike Fury. Always been a Toney fan and lose or no that made me a bigger one.

            Because unlike Tony he's smart.

Fun fact, Couture had a heart attack, got up & walked straight to his local hospital. Badass!

No shame in it, it's all business. The shame is on boxing it's in such a bad place that this can happen, undesputed can be avoided by Aj & now Fury though Ali faced an asian wrestler & he's the greatest?
Ngannou got out boxed by black butterbean Derrick Lewis & Gane of France until he took him down & cuddled him.
Nobody batted an eyelid when Fury made 11 mill in wwe.
