  • Comments Thread For: Prograis: We Definitely Have To Go Back To The Gym And Work On Some Things

Regis Prograis couldn't wait to return home for his first fight in New Orleans in nearly five years. From an entertainment standpoint, it proved to be a night to forget though one which the two-time junior welterweight titlist will use to build and improve.

I know that's hard, but time on top is short. How long has Rougarou been around? Zorro made him look bad playing keep away, Roug better be glad this wasn't a foot race.

Junior Welter isn't shaking out to be anywhere as deep as advertised. It might shake out to Teofimo vs Barroso for all the belts in another year.

Prograis better fix those things before he fights Matias, that's for sure. I've said before that he and Taylor are a bit overrated.

The whole narrative of "running" is ridiculous. Ali ran, and he's the G.O.A.T. It's your job to cut off the ring and slow your opponent down. Don't blame him for executing his game plan, and you failing to do so.

He should choose AB next. Then the unification.

It was a bad style matchup for Prograis; he's still an extremely talented fighter. People shouldn't look too much into one fight. Is Matias going to pose the same threat as Zorrilla? Nope. Although Catterall maybe able take advantage of some of the flaws exposed.

Both really stunk it up but now the question is if Zorilla just made himself marketing equivalent of Rigondeaux. Such a diametric opposite of Matias who I can't wait to see fight again.
