  • Comments Thread For: Oscar Valdez Expecting Canelo To Avenge His Defeat To Bivol

For the first time in a long time, Canelo Alvarez will enter the ring as a decided underdog. With the Mexican star suffering the first defeat of his career in approximately a decade at the hands of Dmitry Bivol last year, the 32-year-old has vowed to make amends.

    Takes him out to lunch?

Bivol would need to be severe ring rusted with Canelo trying to emulate a negative fighting style and of course Byrd/Cj Ross, Moretti, Weisfeld as judges..

They will no doubt rob Dmitry if the fight is even one round closer than last time in Canelo’s favor.

No doubt - Canelo is already up 4 rounds on the scorecards and the fight is not even a done deal

I'm impressed with Canelo's desire to face Bivol at LHW again, but he showed nothing in the Ryder fight or his training videos to suggest he's changed what he needs to beat Bivol. The only way the rematch turns out differently is if Canelo makes him fight in a 14ft ring, which he may well do.

There are 0 boxing skill related reasons to think Canelo beats Bivol. The main hope are either delusional wishful thinking from his fan boys and potential corruption from judges.

Oscar is on record saying Canelo would win the 1st fight with Bivol, but he was wrong then, as he's wrong now. When Canelo is training hard, what does Valdez think Bivol is doing? Bivol is a master at controlling distance, has impeccable timing, speed, boxing IQ, and better legs and footwork than most boxers you'll ever see. Canelo can't do anything with him

Valdez can do all of the expecting that he want's, but all he's going to be getting is disappointed.
Because Canelo isn't going to beat Bivol, in their rematch, anymore than he defeated him in the first fight.
Bivol is going to go two for two against Canelo, and make it look even easier the second time around.
