  • Comments Thread For: Benavidez on 'Fat Boy' Comments: All These Dudes Are Cut, But They Don't Have No F------g Knockouts

David Benavidez finds it laughable that critics--including a certain fighter--still rag on his physique. The undefeated, former 168-pound champion from Phoenix, Arizona, has had to defend himself from accusations of laziness and gluttony over the years, stemming from circumstances that are partially his own doing.

Has it come down to this: Rather than writing about the fight itself, people write articles about one fighter taking offense at being called fat and responding with foul mouth expletives at every turn? Hey I have an idea, how about writing more about boxing and less about this other nonsense?

You've only got to look at guys like butterbean and David tua, big strong dudes with serious elite level knockout power not overly aesthetic. Looks aren't as important in boxing aj, Juan urango and Tim Bradley would all have been p4p number 1 if that was the case if muscles counted as much aesthetically in boxing.

How dumb is this article? He is talking like Plant is an inferior boxer who only has muscles. Staying in shape is a sign of discipline and professionalism.

Physique has nothing to do with athletism at times. One of the most powerfully successful uncut boxers of all time was Tito Trinidad. Eric Morales was pretty good too. Tyson Fury is getting it done on a horribly looking body as well.

He should worry more about Caleb's skills rather than his name-calling. Benavidez comes across as a bit of a big baby at times.

Plant is very much a live dog in this fight, he better focus more on that.

Wow this fight will be fireworks--Benavidez will be looking to KO Plant and Plant will try to counter him. I have to go with B but Plant could pull it off.

If Benavidez got cut he'd be fighting at 154. He has the classic skinny fat build. His power comes from his length and the leverage he gets, he knows how to throw a punch. Having abs doesn't do **** for a boxer.

Some guys are just not genetically disposed to getting to low bodyfat easily. If they do diet down to that level, they feel like **** and wear out fast.

I hope Benavidez knocks Plant's silly ass looking overly cared for hipster beard off his face.
