  • Comments Thread For: Alexis Rocha Embraces Possibility of Facing Terence Crawford Next

Alexis Rocha fully embraced all pre-fight talk regarding a potential future showdown with Terence Crawford. It's a conversation he is more eager to revisit as he plans his next fight, which he prefers to come sooner rather than later--and preferably with the WBO welterweight titlist standing in the opposite corner.

Alexis will go down as a footnote in Terrence Crawford’s resume. Despite having an enormous advantage in both height and reach over Bud, the real difference in Crawford’s ability is all that matters. Rocha is an anorexic super middleweight masquerading as a welterweight. If the WBO wanted to mandate a defense they should have mandated Spence for Crawford, and the WBC, WBA, IBF should have mandated Crawford for Spence. Just shows how corrupt and irrelevant the sanctioning bodies are.

Don't believe Rocha is ready for a guy like Crawford, but it's hard to turn down a title shot against arguably the best fighter in the world knowing he might not get another opportunity or experience like this again. He's still young so win or lose, it's a valuable experience for him to carry into future fights.

Nobody outside of legit boxing fans have heard of him and if this fight gets made, it is a tremendous loss for boxing.

Rocha doesn't have to worry if it's a possibility. It's a sure thing he'll get a title shot at Crawford.

Crawford-Spence ain't happening anytime soon, or ever.

Fans should boycott Spence & Crawford fights until promoters get the message--the Crawford-Spence fight must be made! If not, their legacy will not be as great as it could be.

I agree completely! I wish that there was something that fans could do to force the fight besides boycotting any other fights involving Spence and Crawford. I can't stand the current state of boxing, lol. It seems to be good for most of the fighters, though not so much for fans. Hopefully things will balance out in the future.

First, as average as Rocha is, he doesn't have an enormous height or reach advantage over Bud. Rocha is 5'10 with a 70 inch reach, and Crawford is 5' 8 and a half with a 74 inch reach, so if anything Bud has a big reach advantage. Also, the sanctioning bodies don't mandate full champions to fight other full champions, only top rated contenders or interim/regular champions. Regardless, Bud should have faced Boots voluntarily, instead of waiting to get mandated another mid-tier opponent in Rocha.

He definitely doesn't have to worry, Bud has probably been looking low and hard for his next guaranteed cherry as soon as he beat the last crash dummy, Avanesyen. This is his mode of operation, the path of least resistance, and the no risk guarantee, as long as these suckers keep claiming he's one of the best in the world, he will never fight anyone worth a damn.

They should definitely boycott fights with Thurman and Rocha! If Spence wants to fight at 154, then he should fight Sebastian Fundora or Bakhram Murtazaliev! If Crawford want to be the King @ 147, then he should be fighting Vergil Ortiz Jr., or Jaron "Boots" Ennis! Thurman and Rocha are not worthy of any PPV money!!!
