  • Comments Thread For: MEPB Commission Shuts Down Charr-Browne Show, Bans Promoter From Future Events In Middle East

Mahmoud Charr and Lucas Browne await further instructions as their planned heavyweight clash is on hold. A previously scheduled show featuring Charr-Browne atop the bill was canceled by The Middle East Professional Boxing (MEPB) commission. All involved parties were informed that the card--which was due to take place this Saturday at Motospace Dubai Investment Park in Dubai, United Arab Emirates--will no longer moving forward due to listed event promoter Iconic Promotions Dubai failing to comply with basic standards. "We MEPB have decided to withdraw the sanction provided for the Dec. 17, 2022 event in Dubai, UAE," the commission noted to all participants on the show via an official email, a copy of which was obtained by BoxingScene.com. "The way the promoter handled the event have damaged the good will of the sport and multiple complaints have been received. There is no proper venue secured nor government permits provided till date."

Shouldn't Charr and Browne be fighting in a bar anyhow?

More like another bum for Wilder, or maybe for AJ so he gets his confidence back. Fury has eyes set on Usyk, nice try though. Not a more accomplished HW out there today. If you disagree, you simply have a smooth brain and mommy should limit your internet time.

Victor Faust vs Franklin Lawrence on the undercard??? Lawrence was a decent Heavyweight back in the day but at 47 you and not having fought in nearly 7 years……shame on any commission for attempting to put this on.

Happens all the time with these new promoters with “ big eyes “ they sign you up get you to promote the show , hope enough tickets get sold and attracts enough sponsors before the event to finance hotel rooms and the venue . Very risky but fighters desperately fall for it . Oldest trick in the book

Humourless, defensive Fury fanboy triggered. Don't worry, your big, strong hero (with mental health problems and suicidal tendencies) is still the best. Relax.
