NEW YORK - Jerry Forrest came to test Jared Anderson and painfully paid the price Saturday night. Anderson withstood Forrest's fast start, bombarded him with punishing punches for most of the first round and stopped the durable veteran heavyweight early in the second round on the Teofimo Lopez-Sandor Martin undercard at Madison Square Garden. Referee David Fields stopped their scheduled 10-round bout 1:34 into the second round, after

Forrest easily hit Anderson. Anderson still pulls straight back and has absolutely no head movement. Don’t see him lasting against top heavyweights with a punch.

He blasted through a very tough and durable Slugger Forrest but he has to be a bit more mindful of his defense.

Good stoppage but I didn’t like how much he got hit in that first round. He’s going to have to clean that up. I’d rather him say the stoppage up naturally rather than force it so recklessly

After what I saw tonight, if Anderson fights someone with a pulse he is getting f up!

Big Baby needs to work on his defense but the good news is at 23 years old he has time to do exactly that!

No other heavyweight has his hand speed, firepower, and combinations...

With the proper training and strategy he could chop down any of these big trees in the heavyweight division.

How about Frank Sanchez next for him?

He's right about fighting Whyte next. Getting tagged so easily by a journeyman maybe fighting a gatekeeper with power like Whyte would really show us if he's ready to be an elite fighter.
