Whyte is right. Whyte has a better resume than Wilder. Wilder has one of the worst resumes in history for a long reigning heavyweight champion. Having said that, Wilder would splatter Whyte.

He was never the heavyweight champion. He held the WBC belt for a long time but that's not the same thing. Never fought Klitschko, never lineal, never recognised by Ring or TBRB.

Definitely. Everyone should remember the effect that Fury/Wilder-3 had on the winner. He said he was concussed, announced his retirement, and said some words to the effect of not wanting to end up as a drooler. Even as a victor, it took him a while to get over what Wilder did to him. In like manner, it took Wilder a long time to get over what Fury did to him. Both are huge, strong, fast, powerful men, trained to smite hard and hurt opponents badly. The damage each inflicted on the other was grave. Fury came out the winner, and props to him for that.


People can and do criticize Wilder and Fury, but the one word that doesn't apply to either one is "coward." If White wants to fight Wilder, he should try a respectful challenge, not a bunch of name-calling that leaves people eye-rolling.
