  • Comments Thread For: Otto Wallin's Promoter Will Explore Fight With Joseph Parker

The team behind heavyweight contender Otto Wallin would like to secure him a fight with former WBO world champion Joseph Parker. A few months ago, Parker suffered the first knockout loss of his career when Joe Joyce stopped him inside the distance of their WBO interim-title clash.

Parker is a good opponent, but should he really continue boxing?

That was quite a beating he took from Joyce, and even his shape didn't look that good, although the fight went into the late rounds.

Parker needs to retire. He's clearly wasn't fit enough in his last fight to go more than 1 round. He's just turning up for a pay cheque now.

Career heaviest, gassed in round 1.

Another day, another article about Wallin looking to secure a fight against a name fighter.

Martin Bakole vs Wallin would be a good fight to make.

Parker hasn't looked like a live opponent in several years. I don't know why anyone still thinks he's good. He barely beat bums like Chisora, Junior Fa, and the ghost of Alex Leapai.

There is no non-champ who gets mentioned as a potential opponent more than Wallin.
Dude just can't get big fights outside of slicing up Fury that one time. Just a high risk low reward opponent.

Boxing is his job and he's 30 years old.

Of course he doesn't need to retire.

To be fair, Wallin's team only seem to call out the biggest names. He hasn't earned a fight against any of them - trading purely on a decent showing against the worst version of Fury we've seen.

Quite refreshing to hear his team taking about a fight that actually could get made. His career has been on hold waiting for a big fight.
