Brian Mendoza has accepted a difficult fight on short notice. BoxingScene.com has learned that Mendoza agreed to face Jeison Rosario on November 5 at The Armory in Minneapolis. Mendoza replaced an injured Yoelvis Gomez barely 10 days in advance of the Rosario bout once Gomez withdrew from their fight Tuesday due to an injury to his right wrist sustained while training.

It would have been better if Jesus Ramos rather than Brian Mendoza fought against Jeison Rosario since he recently entered the top 15 rankings.

To see compete if he competes at a higher level considering he knocked out in the sixth round a former gritty middleweight in Vladimir Hernandez (13-4-0) who had a deceptive record as he was making a comeback win streak against Aaron Coley (16-2-1), Alfredo Angulo (26-7-0) and Julian Williams (27-2-1).

He also fought a gritty young welterweight in Luke Santamaria who defeated his uncle Abel Ramos (27-4-2), and former big prospect Mykal Fox (22-1-0).

Not bad wins for someone who was just 20 years old.
