  • Comments Thread For: Fundora: I Felt Like I Proved To The People Against Lubin That I'm An Elite Fighter

By Keith Idec - LOS ANGELES - Sampson Lewkowicz knew he had something special when Sebastian Fundora defeated Victor Toney five years ago. Fundora was just 19 years old and had only four professional fights on his record when he stepped into the ring to face Toney, who was 5-0 at that time, in a six-round, non-televised bout in September 2017 at Cannery Casino Hotel in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Lewkowicz, Fundora's promoter, wasn't sold on the 6-foot-6 southpaw's potential prior to the Toney fight, either.

Sebastian Fundora proved to be more durable than expected, and a difficult task for anyone at 154. But elites make it look easy, I grade Fondura a B-.

I personally like Fundora. He has a crowd pleasing and fan friendly style. He is a volume puncher who tends to wear his opponents down with his size and pure punch volume. His only draw back is that he lacks defense and gets hit too much. He’s too easy to hit.

Fundora has a good chin and is resilient but he can't continue taking shots like that especially from top fighters. It will shorten his career prematurely.

His is fun to watch, a modern day Paul Williams.

I can see him getting folded like a lawn chair if/when he faces Charlo. He’ll walk into a Charlo uppercut or left hook.

If Charlo hurts him he won't leave me off the hook. He will finish him.

Fundora solid pressure fighter ,easy to hit but also very durable he absorbs tremendous amount of punishment while landing his own back ,however in order to become part of the Elite he needs to beat an Elite boxer first. Lubin aint it, win was solid though no doubt
