  • Comments Thread For: Malik Scott On Possible Joyce-Wilder Clash: "Different Type Of Power, How Many Can He Take?"

Although he's been doubted time and time again throughout his relatively short pugilistic career, Joe Joyce has continued to silence his perpetual line of naysayers. This past weekend, in front of a fairly jam-packed crowd at the Manchester Arena, Joyce once again stepped into the spotlight. On the night, the former Olympic silver medalist took on former WBO heavyweight belt holder, Joseph Parker.

I'd favour Joyce over Wilder, but yes, he can't get hit with too many big Wilder right hands.

A fun fight if it ever happens, but highly unlikely. This is modern pro boxing, and we're definitely not getting all the fights we'd love to see.

Wilder's power is overrated. It only works on offensive fighters with bad chins who don't move their heads. Everyone knows Fury's chin is average yet Wilder couldn't knock him down with legal punches...and the full-powered rabbit punches couldn't keep him down. The biggest clue of Wilder's overrated power was his gym fight with 0-1 Junior Welterweight Charlie Zelenoff. Wilder landed flush shots and the only reason Charlie fell was because he was trying to get out of the fight. He was nowhere near being KOd and even was able to easily slip a punch Wilder threw while Charlie was on the ground. Wilder's heart disappears when he lands his best and guys don't fall. Wilder would NOT be able to get Joyce out of there with a few clean shots and would fold soon thereafter. Tyson Fury took his legs and his heart forever. Wilder is a ghost.

Wilder, better stay in his lane. Joyce would steamroll him

wilder is a big puncher and possibly even the biggest in boxing history joyce cannot take on wilder's punches for more than 7 to 8 rounds joyce gets too much hit by single punches

More like the other way around. Joyce is SLOW and Parker was hitting him CLEAN as fuk!!! Let those be Wilder punches he he's out!!!

Parker ain't known for his power. I knew eventually Joyce was going to catch him.

when people talk about this fight they dont mention that joyce has the power to knock wilder the **** out! joe is a one punch KO artist himself and even his jab is like a sledgehammer

Joyce isn’t a one punch ko guy, he’s a heavy handed big man and he knocked out his last opponent after wearing him down with Parker coming in heaviest he had been and being past his best years. Let’s clear that up first. Now having said that, while wilder’s punches would do damage to Joyce, I do think Joyce is probably too big and strong for the small wilder. However if and when wilder inevitably lands in the first round with a big right hand it will be intersting to see how good
of a chin Joyce has when that level of puncher connects
