by Cliff Rold - One has brushed up against the top of the mountain, only to fall short of the summit. The other was denied, with some debate, of Olympic gold and now pursues it as a professional. Someone will take a big step backwards this weekend. Joseph Parker won and defended a major heavyweight title but was badly outpointed in a unification clash with Anthony

He looks like he carries 255 pretty well for a guy who isn't very tall.

I remember when people crapped all over the 6' 3 Greg Page for coming in at a fight with Tim Witherspoon at 239 lbs.

Page wasn’t anywhere near lean as Parker , people back then also weren’t as smart as today they thought the ideal weight was about 210 and thought lifting weights hindered athletic performance which is foolish .

Talking about stats, and stakes, it sounds like Joyce, and Parker were eating Stacks, of steak's both weighing in at career high's.
This might turn out to be a real lethargic fight between two heavy, heavyweight fighters who think that coming in heavier makes them stronger, or more resilient.

Page wasn't lean, or muscular at all, he had a real nonathletic build that's why he looked fat, and out of shape whenever he came in heavier.
He was a real good fighter who lacked discipline, and didn't like to train very much, which is flirting with disaster in the game of boxing.

Some people perform better heavier , Joyce will benefit while Parker at 255 or whatever is a mistake I think it further increases Joyce chances of winning . We don’t really know what they weigh in before they enter the ring which is why weigh ins are ridiculous they aren’t going to be the same weight before a weigh in come fight night the next day which is another topic .

They usually put on even more weight after the weigh in, they are both rather slow fighters, although Joyce is the busier fighter in the ring.
They're both power punchers, but Joyce has the heavier hands, and I believe that he'll beat Parker decisively, possibly by knockout he hits that hard.
The reason that they changed the weigh in from the same day to the day before the fight, is because to many fighters were missing the weight limit.
That was occurring in the lower weights of course, as there is no weight limit that the heavyweights must weigh under.
That was causing fights to be cancelled on the day of the fight, because fighters can't lose weight, and then re-hydrate on the same day without weakening themselves.
