  • Comments Thread For: Dubois: It Would Be Better For Me If Joshua Beats Usyk

Daniel Dubois envisions an all-British showdown whenever his number is called to challenge for the heavyweight title. For now, it would require him somehow getting a crack at lineal/WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23KOs). The Londoner is also banking on Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22KOs) to bring back home the WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO titles he conceded in a twelve-round, unanimous decision to Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13KOs) last September. Their rematch is set for August 20 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with Usyk as a healthy betting favorite to prevail.

How did that work out for Gorman, when he ultimately faced Dubois in the ring...
Sparring means legitimately nothing, guys get brave when they've got head gear on and they know their hands will hold up in the bigger gloves...

Vitali got put over by Fres Oquendo FFS and yet in the circle of truth he was never put down as a pro is just one example of the irrelevance of it all.

Would there be a trilogy if AJ wins? Probably not...matchroom fighters lose, as soon as they win a rematch they move on. U don't see any of those fighters giving rematches to anyone they beat.

Not a chance, it'll be a nip and tuck affair and they won't risk the pay day with Fury

Why would you? If your the champion? Sure, if their putting a big payday down, but Joshua is the big payday, so he doesn't have to. They'll need to go earn it. And that's not exclusively a Matchroom thing. Wilder has never rematched anyone he's beaten. Nor Fury, who has only just made a first defence.

Ah yes, that's true. My apologies, that one slipped my mind. But it is a rare thing though.
