  • Comments Thread For: Broner On His Punch Output: 'Tim Duncan Wasn't Exciting But He Knew How To Win'

If Adrien Broner is concerned that he doesn't throw enough punches in his fights, he certainly isn't showing it. The multiple weight-division titlist from Cincinnati was recently asked to respond to criticism regarding his relatively low-volume offense, a topic that has come up in some of the biggest fights of his career, including his 2015 welterweight

If Figueroa is not completely shot and doesn't get KOed he should be able to out hustle Broner.

“It’s different styles of fights,” Broner told Cigar Talk. “Different opponents. There are lot of different opponents. It’s a lot of **** that comes with that. I don’t worry about none of that."
So he's not wrong - obviously you're putting yourself at risk when you decide to throw.

The problem is, when even your TRAINER is telling you to up the output and you don't...that's not good.

Kevin Cunningham told this guy repeatedly to let his hands go against Vargas and he didn't, then complained when it went to a draw.

So I take what Broner's saying as, he's scarred by the Maidana situation and no longer feels confident in his punching ability.

He should not have lost against Manny. He took 4 rounds off Manny Pacquiao doing NOTHING. Imagine if he had fought like Ugas did. He's part to blame for Keef taking an L.

Tim Duncan wasn’t flashy but nobody tried harder to win. Known for his off season workouts and studying the game. None of this reminds me of broner

Problem is once Broner starts getting tagged he stats dancing and goes in survival mode.
His power didn’t translate past 135/140 and since he’s a low output fighter he’s not getting decisions against top guys.

Never the same since Maidana took those balls and sent AB running back to the dressing room in tears.

Not a good comparison, Duncan lived for his sport, Broner clearly does not for boxing. It's a money grab for him.
