Ben Shalom, promoter for WBO junior middleweight champion Natasha Jonas, has made a big offer to WBA, IBO champion Hannah Rankin. Shalom would like to stage their unification on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, as part of the big card that already features two other unifications in women's boxing, with Claressa Shields colliding with Savannah Marshall and Mikaela Mayer facing Alycia Baumgardner.

Taylor/Serrano was the big one for women, Shields is unlikeable on 2 continents. When you play a stereotypical victim thems the brakes.

I don't disagree about Shields being unlikeable. But when did being the villain stop a fight from being big? There's been many throughout history where the biggest fights in the world had villains. It makes those who watch want to see the villain take a beating.

What a super intriguing match up Rankin vs Jonas would be. In terms of pure punching ability and sheer boxing talent, Natasha is likely head and shoulders above Rankin, but Hannah's genuine toughness and physical strength will make this very interesting.
I can't really envisage Jonas stopping Hannah as she is too tough, and savannah Marshall unloaded on her with destructive precision and relentlessly, yet still Rankin remained on her feet and and looked to somehow want to keep fighting, but the referee quite rightly, stepped in eventually.
