Yes some danger, true what Flores said. Also true that they are weight draining Rahman Jr for the fight.

Rahman Jr. has the weight of the boxing world on his shoulder. He has the opportunity to start ridding the boxing world of these Youtube misfits. If he loses there go the flood gates of boxing.

You can't be 'weight drained' if you agreed to fight at that weight in the first place.

I get your point, but they're talking about the medical side. The brain won't rehydrate like the rest of the body. It will be a bit smaller and easier to rattle inside the cranial box... Easier to knock out than if properly rehydrated etc. Paul has few fights, but he's spent way more time in the gym than folks realize. He was limited, observed and learned the game, from there he capatalized on social media..some even got elected like that. We're into boxing and tend to lead in our own way, we're not the majority/average person...the lineup at the store is..

Rahman was 224 earlier this year on fight night so that is fully in shape. Who knows what he was when they called him. He has to be 200 weigh in and a 210 fight evening re-hydration clause until a few hours before the fight, that evening not that morning.

They also gave him from what it sounds like only 20k for this fight and 45 minutes to decide.

that is all his story. IDK if he is in on the whole thing to take a dive though for side money later and saying this to hype it or what.

NY Athletic Commission duty is to protect the fighters so if Rahman has an extreme weight cut and rehydration clause they should have a huge interest in that portion as well and the risk to Rhaman's health.

People seem to be forgetting that he was 224 in his last fight AS A HEAVY WEIGHT! that makes a huge difference in context, because it means he didn't have to cut weight at all. He just got on the scale at his walking around weight, a privilege only HWs enjoy. This would be an extreme weight cut if he had been killing himself to weigh in at 224, but he wasn't. In all likely hood, he'll probably weigh about the same for this fight as his last fight. Canelo and Chaves Jr. Are both notorious for weighing 20 lbs more in the ring than at the weigh in, but people didn't call those extreme weight cuts. Honestly, Floyd asking Canelo to go down to 152 was probably a bigger deal than asking Rahman to cut to 200.

                That's what A-sides do!

Floyd, Oscar, Saul has done it all the time...No B-side has to accept the fight. Rahman Jr wants the payday.

I've noticed that Heavyweights that try to lose weight to appease fans typically lose punch resistance. And although Rahman isn't a guy fans are ridiculing for being sloppy fat, he will likely suffer the same fate.

Rahmans biggest mistake in this all will be to go for the KO. Keeping the fight slow will work in his favor.

Well said, its about knowing your body and having the ability not to fade after a few rounds. Up to say 6'6, most are best around 240 to 245 max. Good punch resistance, movement and good cardio. There are exceptions like Andy Ruiz who has crazy cardio, speed, movement and needs the extra weight cause he's not a power puncher. Mass times acceleration and Andy can generate enough force to surprise almost anyone.

PS. Rahman can't let Paul, hug and lean, he has to spin out of the way, dig to the body or punish with the free hand.
